After more than 10 years of making electronic music, Fredrik Axling suddenly stopped producing, sold his

music studio and took a break from everything. To get back on track, he bought a camera and started taking pictures in his hometown of Stockholm. Pretty soon it became clear that he had switched path and was deep down into street photography.

His photography is mainly characterized by a sense of loneliness and nostalgia, often suggested through composition with strong colours and contrasts, where the human expression is in the center. Moreover, his photography often emphasizes the interplay of light and shadow, bringing depth and atmosphere to his images. Although he occasionally explores other genres such as nature, landscapes and experimental imagery, his work often highlights everyday scenes from the city, aiming to find beauty in the ordinary.

Axling’s work has recently been featured in a photo zine released with London publisher Setanta Book. The zine reflects his first three years as a photographer and his perspective on the world around him. Through his photography, he invites viewers to pause and appreciate the small, often unnoticed moments and details of urban life.
