Øyvind Nordhagen is a Norwegian documentary and street photographer based in Oslo. He focuses on social

landscapes and the human condition, particularly the Norwegian condition. His images are of the kind that invites you to look closer, as they usually have a slight deadpan humoristic touch to them.

In 2024 Øyvind spent 8 months on a project shot exclusively onboard a specific tram car model in Oslo, titled “Not in service”. The project is an epitaph to this historic tram car as it was being decommissioned. Taking the street photography perspective and focusing on the role of public transport as cultural heritage and public space. The project will be published in book form in 2025.

Øyvind will show and tell war stories from working on the project “Not in service, as well as dipping into some of his other work.

The Talk:

Beyond Instagram: What’s next for someone like you (and me)?

Øyvind will tell the story of how his tram car project came to be, as well as why and how he believes project photography is the way to unlock something new and meaningful. In this talk you will be inspired to take on projects of your own and learn to believe in them, no matter how insignificant they may seem at first.
